Table Tennis : New Season Kicks Off

Close to 100 players took part in the launch of activities for the 2025 sports calendar on Saturday, March 22, 2025.
The warmup room of the Yaounde Multipurpose Sports Complex in Warda, , was the venue of the opening of the 2025 sports season for table tennis in Cameroon on Saturday, March 22, 2025. Organised by the Cameroon Table Tennis Federation, the competition brought together close to 100 athletes from clubs across the country. The competition unfolded in the men’s, women and veterans categories. It was an opportunity to detect young talents. A total of 48 matches were on programme and the athletes put up remarkable performances in the different categories.
In the women’s final, Djike Hillary of IUG Douala beat Kelly equally from IUG Douala 3-0. In the junior men’ category, Ndzelen Maxwell from Canon Avenir Table Tennis Club of Yaounde was the winner. In the women’s cadets’ category, Bolda Mira from the Air Force Base Tennis Club of Yaounde beat her team mate Haranga Sydney 3-2. In the men’s cadet category, Niba Mac Bright from the Air Force Base Table Tennis Club beat Fomunyuy Michael from the Air Force Base 3-1. In the senior men’s final, Boulmo Igor outplayed Mohamed Abdoulai 4-1. In the veterans’ category, Ngamaleu Leopold was the winner. Trophies were handed over to players who distinguished themselves in the competition.
