International Friendly : Lionesses Return To Pitch

The Indomitable Lionesses of Cameroon are set to return to the pitch today, Tuesday, April 8, 2025, as they face off against the Atlas Lionesses of Morocco in a highly anticipated international friendly after over a year away from the international arena. The Stade Père Jégo in Casablanca will be the battleground for this crucial encounter, kicking off at 6 p.m.
This friendly match holds significant importance for both nations as they gear up for major continental competitions. For Cameroon, this game marks their long-awaited return following their last official appearance in February 2024 during the third round of the Olympic qualifying tournament against Nigeria. The year-long absence makes this clash against Morocco an even more vital opportunity for Coach Jean-Baptiste Bisseck to reintegrate the squad and assess their readiness for the demanding qualifiers of the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON). Cameroon's focus is firmly set on the WAFCON 2026 qualifiers, with a challenging double-header against Algeria already scheduled for October 2025. This friendly against a strong Moroccan side will be instrumental in fine-tuning their strategies, identifying key player combinations, and building crucial match fitness.
