Bamenda: Nation Mourns Executive Director of SHUMAS

Stephen Dzerem Njodzeka was decorated posthumously with the medal of Officer of the Order of Valour by NW Governor Adolphe Lele Lafrique.
The executive Director of the Strategic Humanitarian Organisation (SHUMAS) who travel to the world beyond on January 18, 2025 was buried in Bamenda on April 12, 2025. The 55- year old son of Bui Division Stephen Dzerem Njodzeka who was a strategic developer and the Executive Director of SHUMAS. He was decorated as Officer of the Order of Valour by North West Governor, Adolphe Lele Lafrique for his efforts in reinforcing government strides for quality education, health care, improving living standards especially to the vulnerable population. The Archbishop of Bamenda His Grace Andrew Nkea during the funeral service challenged mourners and Cameroonians in general to emulate the humanitarian values demonstrated by the late Director of SHUMAS. The late Stephen Dzerem whose works touched thousands across Cameroon, concentrated in helping the poor and the underprivileged. He provided water to communities, built schools, empowered the under privileged through seminars and was very instrumental in the fight against climate change amongst other achievements. He was described by mourners as a visionary without borders.
