Limbe FESTAC 2017: Prizes Awarded To Competitors

Racers of canoe and marathon as well as wrestlers and Miss FESTAC were offered trophies, medals and money to mark this year’s festival.

As the eight days of this year’s FESTAC ended last Saturday (15 April, 2017) in Limbe, the vision bearer, Andrew Motanga Monjimba, promised even a more renovated feast next year to mark the 160 years of the founding of Victoria, now Limbe. Ngomba Clara, Miss FESTAC, mounted the podium to receive prizes as well as Mformi and Lizette Ngalim, for their performances in the marathon. Speaking at the close of the Cultural festival at Down Beach Limbe, Governor Bernard Okalia Bilai, sitting in for the Minister of Arts and Culture, praised the initiative which to him had not been equalled elsewhere. The Governor rejoiced that the occasion was used to call for school return. He encouraged the initiative as it stood for Cameroon’s unity and peace.
The Limbe FESTAC pulled thousands of tourists and visitors to the City of Friendship which would soon see the realisation of their beach project to embellish the beaches and maximise income flow for the capital of Fako Division.
