CDC Salary Arrears: Workers Told Bailout Is In Plantations

Workers of the Cameroon Development Corporation (CDC) have been told that possibly by July 2, 2026, salary will tickle into their accounts. It was the outcome of CDC bi-annual meeting in Bota on June 26, 2026 with service heads and staff representatives. On June 16, 2026, workers in Tiko downed their tools for three days, requesting for 36 months of unpaid salary arrears. The General Manager of CDC, Franklin Ngoni Njie, requested the workers to return to their various production units and engage with work. He pointed out that money needed to pay their salaries is in the rubber, banana and palm plantations. They need to bring out the crops and convert them into money to pay themselves as there is no other source of revenue to take care of their problems. He insisted that there is no second bailout from the government. The global debts of unpaid salaries were not mentioned but he made it clear that each worker knows the amount of money the corporation owes them.
