Religion: FCFA 50 Million To Rehabilitate Retreat Centre

The money will help support to restore a centre dedicated to spiritual formation and family development.
The Verbum Dei Missionary Fraternity has launched an appeal for FCFA 50 million to rehabilitate its ageing retreat and formation centre in Douala. The fundraising ceremony that took place on June 25 was presided at by the head of the Police and Administrative Organisation Division at the Littoral governor’s office, Tebogbe Bambe Jean Bosco, who called on all attendees to give cheerful and support the project. Beyond offering a place for prayer and reflection he noted, the helps in forming individuals and strengthening families. He reiterated that Cameroon supports activities that build morals and promote peace. The church coordinator, Mathurin Ngassa, said the renovation became a necessity as the state of the centre poses risks to the thousands of people who use it yearly. “The centre is in disrepair, and it represents a risk not only for those who come here but also for workers”, he said.
