Statistics, Applied Economics: 108 Fresh Graduates Into Corporate World

The laureates from 10 countries were urged during the graduation ceremony on July 31 in Yaounde, to explore technological growths and develop sustainable economic solutions.
“P ublic decisions are ba sed on reliable data. As such, laureates should explore digital innova tions to enhance rigorous analysis and impeccable professional ethics that respond to the growing market de mand for not only data collectors but interpreters capable of transforming figures to actionable decisions within local communities.” The clarion call was made by the Minister of the Eco nomy, Planning and Regional Develop ment, Alamine Ousmane Mey, during the graduation ceremony of the 42nd batch of students from the Sub-Regio nal Institute of Statistics and Applied Economics known by the French acro nym ISSEA, last July 31, 2026 in Yaounde. Edifying the data scientists from 10 countries from within and out of the Central African Economic and Mone tary Community (CEMAC) zone, the Mi nister urged the graduates to become architects of economic and statistical development that reinforces varied evolving sectors including agriculture, health, education, and humanitarian spheres, amongst others.
