U-20 UNIFFAC Tournament: Junior Lions Inherit Pool A

T he qualifiers for the 2027 U-20 Africa Cup of Nations for the Central African Football Federa­ tions’ Union zone, better known by its French acronym, UNIFFAC, will take place from October 12–24, 2026, in Yaounde, Cameroon. The draw for the UNIFFAC tournament took place yes­ terday, October 5, 2026, in Libreville, Gabon. At the end of the draw, Came­ roon’s U-20 men’s team was placed in Pool A alongside Chad and the Central African Republic. Pool B consists of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Gabon, and the Republic of the Congo. At the end of the group phase, the semi-finals will pit the leader of Group A against the runner-up of Group B, while the leader of Group B will face the runner-up of Group A. The losers of the semi-finals will contest a clas­ sification match, while the two fina­ lists—who will both qualify for the U- 20 Africa Cup of Nations, will meet in the final to determine the champion of the zone. The matches will be played at the Ahmadou Ahidjo Stadium, with the Olembe Stadium serving as the alternative venue.
