Investing In China: Jinlin Province Woos Over 100 Foreign Diplomats    

 The Foreign Ministry on June 13, 2017 hosted an exhibition in the capital, Beijing.

 

Entitled, “An Open China: Promising Jinlin Meeting The World,” the one-day event involved the projection of a promotional video, speeches and an exhibition on the economic prowess of Jinlin Province. The fair on June 13, 2017 in the capital Beijing was attended by 33 Ambassadors, over 70 other senior diplomats and a crowd of about 6,000 officials. Jinlin Province, which is located in the North-East of China, has a population of 27.533 million inhabitants and land size of 187,400 square kilometres. Its Gross Domestic Product in 2015 was 1,380 Billion Yuan Renminbi (about 118.8 Billion FCFA) - a growth of 6.5 per cent.

Opening the exhibition, Chinese Foreign Minister, Wang Yi, spoke of the industrial and agricultural strengths and potentials of the province that shares borders with Russia and North Korea. Bayangqulo, the Communist Party of China, CPC Secretary for Jinlin, recalled that the province has recorded a number of “firsts” in China like the manufacture of passenger trains and vehicles. It is famous for its space programme and production of high-speed or bullet trains and the Hongqi high-grade limousine cars used by China’s leaders and for receiving Heads of State, etc. He noted that the goal now was to speed up an all-round rejuvenation of the province.

Bayangqulo said the imminent linking up of Jinlin with Europe through bullet train services will significantly boost trade. He listed local tourist attractions as including the Changbai Waterfall, Koguryo Ancient Noble Tombs, Xianghai Nature Reserve, Fangchuan Scen...
