Fuzhou Administrative Center: One Stop Modern Procedure

I t is indeed a one-stop integrated service system covering all the ad­ ministrative steps and procedures, an individual can request from its go­ vernment. That is the phrase that can be used to describe the Fuzhou Ad­ ministrative Services Centre. Fuzhou is a city in the Province of Fujian. The administrative centre covers a total surface area of 40,000 metres square and is a five-floor building. One thou­ sand documents are treated a day per floor, making it 5,000 per day for the entire centre. The first floor is mainly dedicated to services related to health insurance and social security, as well as services for Taiwanese compatriots and Tai­ wanese businesses. For health insu­ rance and social security, there are some persons in jackets at the waiting area who assist those who cannot properly fill their documents to do so. The second floor handles services re­ lated to travel and transportation. Here, there is a zone for public security, where driving licenses are issued. Chi­ nese authorities have introduced a machine to control body health prior to the issuance of driver license. Once a file is submitted, the license is issued within seven working days. Before now, it was the hospital that evaluated the wellbeing of a person before the license is issued but with the introduction of the machines sta­ tioned in cubicles, one can undergo the basic fitness test on the spot. It also contains immigration services as it is also here that travel documents to places like Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan are issued. Through intelli­ gence services programmed in ma­ chines, those requesting documents can fill forms online.
