Diaspora : Choupo-Moting Lifts German Trophy

It was a thrilling end of the season for Indomitable Lions forward, Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting and his German Club Bayern Munich. Till the last day of play on May 27, 2023, uncertainty still loomed over who will be Bundesliga Champions with stiff competition being between Bayern and Borussia Dortmund. Bayern Munich was condemned to win and hope for a misstep of its rival Borussia Dortmund. With both matches being played at the same time, tension was high. But at the end, it is Choupo-Moting’s Bayern that is celebrating the victory after winning FC Köln 2-1 while Borussia Dortmund drew against Mainz. The result means Bayern finishes the campaign on 71 points, level with Dortmund but ahead on goal difference.
In the game against FC Köln, Choupo-Moting was fielded at the 71st minute. His efforts since the start of the season have been appreciable despite his injury concerns. In all, he played 19 matches for the Bundesliga this season scored 10 goals and made two assists.
