Enhancing Good Governance, Social Cohesion: Germany Reiterates Support

T he German government through the Secretary of State for Economic Cooperation and Development, Jochen Flasbarth has reaffirmed its support in the fight against corruption, promoting good governance, and social cohesion. The German official who is in Cameroon for the second international ministerial conference on cross-border transhumance was received by the Prime Minister, Head of Government, Joseph Dion Ngute on July 11, 2023. Accompanied by the German Ambassador to Cameroon, Dr. Corinna Fricke, the German Secretary of State assured the Prime Minister of his country’s support to the Cameroonian economy as it seeks to attain its emergence development goal by 2035. In his statement to reporters after the audience, Jochen Flasbarth said Germany will continue to be a stable partner on the side of the Republic of Cameroon. “One very important area of cooperation is social cohesion, decentralisation, good governance and the fight against corruption. We were absolutely in full agreement that this is essential for the Cameroonian economy as this country wants to be an emerging economy by 2023.
