Good Governance: SNH Outlines Actions, Prospects

This was during a working session with Transparency International Cameroon yesterday.
Institutional measures on promoting good governance, integrity and the fight against corruption, all put in place by the National Hydrocarbons Corporation (SNH), were yesterday February 26 presented to Transparency International Cameroon. This was during a working session between officials of the two countries, with the Technical Adviser No 2 of SNH, Nathalie Moudiki on behalf of the Executive General Manager, speaking for the hydrocarbons structure and the President of Transparency International Cameroon, Barrister Henry Njoh Manga Bell who did same for the non-governmental organisation. While stating that the working session marks the structured collaboration between the two institutions, she said SNH has several initiatives on promoting good governance in the petroleum sector, having obtained a quality management certification norm: ISO90001 which is progressively being implemented. She assured Transparency International Cameroon of her availability to collaborating on promoting best practices in the fight against corruption. Madam Nathalie Moudiki told the governance experts that SNH has an ethics code and the fight against corruption unit. In addition, the institution regularly publishes information on its petroleum and gaz activities notably through its website, annual reports annual reports and SNH infos. Furthermore, the institution equally publishes its financial status, carried out internal audits, allows for external audits as well as joint audits with partner structures. She also stated that SNH collaborates with the National AntiCorruption Commission. The President of Transparency International Cameroon, Barrister Henry Njoh Manga Bell expressed satisfaction on the fact that many institutions in Cameroon are beginning to understand and respect the exigencies of the modern world in terms of governance, transparency and integrity.
