Nigeria: Insecurity Persists In South, North East

Rebels attacked crude oil pipeline in Delta State on Monday and suspected Boko Haram terrorists killed people in Borno State.

 

Since Monday, September 18, 2016, Nigeria has suffered two major attacks in the oil-rich Niger Delta region in the southern part of the country and suspected Boko Haram attacks in Borno State in the north eastern part of the country, news agencies reports say. On Monday, a militant group claimed an attack on a crude oil pipeline in Delta State , the second attack on the same line in less than a week. Niger Delta Greenland Justice Mandate (NDGJM) spokesman Aldo Agbalaja  is cited as saying that,  "Opudo strike force, at about 11:30 pm on September 18, 2016, struck the Afiesere-Ekiugbo delivery line in Ughelli, operated by NPDC/Shoreline."

The rebel group  reportedly hit the same pipeline last Tuesday and vowed to ground the  Nigerian economy which is already in recession.
