Mamfe Catholic Diocese: Bishop Andrew Nkea Visits Yaounde Flock

Christians used the visit, which ended on Sunday October 16, 2016, to raise funds for developing the diocese.

 

The Catholic Bishop of Mamfe Diocese in the South West Region, His Lordship Andrew Fuanya Nkea, yesterday, October 16, 2016, concluded a three-day pastoral visit to his Christians in Yaounde. These are indigenes of Manyu and Lebialem Divisions and Nguti Subdivision of Kupe-Muanenguba Division.

Speaking yesterday at a special thanksgiving mass he celebrated at the Saint Joseph’s Anglophone Parish, Mvog-Ada, the prelate called on the Christians to be constant in prayers. Drawing from Luke 18:1-8, Mgr Andrew Nkea said prayer was the key to a Christian’s life. The Bishop prayed for God’s blessings on the Christians and their descendants. 

Under the general coordination of the Minister of Special Duties at the Presidency, Victor Arrey Mengot, Sunday’s high mass saw the presentation of projects by the Bishop as part of the Mamfe Diocese Strategic Plan for 2015-2020. This was followed by fundraising in support of the projects, with a total of FCFA 38 million collected. According to Bishop Nkea, it is hoped that in the next 10 years, the diocese will be able to generate income to run its activities. Earlier on Saturday October 15, 2016, a fundraising dinner for the diocese held in the home of Dr Balimba Ashu in Bastos.
