HIV/AIDS: 3,000 Peer Educators To Reduce Prevalence Rate

The first batch started receiving training October 19, 2016 in Douala.

According to statistics from the Ministry of Public Health, about 600,000 people are HIV positive and only about 150,000 of the infected population are on treatment. Given that 450,000 knows their status and are not on treatment while a lot more don’t even know their status  is preoccupying. It is for this reason that the Wood Sector in Cameroon dubbed GFBC was chosen by the Health Ministry to pilot the project “HIV prevention within other vulnerable population” financed by the Global Fund to fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria.
