Korean Dev’t Models: Varsity Students Trained

They were trained in a workshop organised in Yaounde as part of celebrations of the Korea Week.

The Korean Alumni Association of Cameroon (KAAC) has organised a partnership and networking conference to train university students on Korean models and techniques of development, project writing and administration. The conference organised in association with the Korean International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) and the International Relations Institute of Cameroon (IRIC) took place on October 26, 2018 under the auspices of the Korean Ambassador, Rhyou Bok Ryeol and the Director of IRIC, Salomon Eheth.

University students were urged to tap from the South Korean experience especially in using Information and Communication Technology for development, Korean models of public works, energy development and mindset transformation. Korea is ranked 11th among the world's best economies, and according to John Meafo of the KAAC, emulating the country would help Cameroon achieve its vision of becoming an emergent economy by 2035. He said it is important for students to know the elements that can help a diplomat to foster the economy of his country.<...
