In Readiness for D-Day

A rehearsal was last Saturday Nov.03 staged at the premises of the National Assembly ahead of the oath-taking ceremony of the President-elect of the Republic of Cameroon.
The cream of top government, administrative and military officials all answered present at the premises of Ngoa- Ekele Glass House Saturday, November 03, 2018, to set the stage for the official oathtaking ceremony of the newly elected President of the Republic of Cameroon, Mr Paul Biya. The rehearsal is a traditional ritual that usually precedes ceremonies of this magnitude.
The aim is to ensure success when the real time of the event comes. Organised under the supervisory authority of the Minister, Director of Civil Cabinet, Samuel Mvondo Ayolo, the practice took place at the esplanade of the National Assembly as well as in the he micycle. The setting took into consideration the solemnity that will surround the event. All the actors of the various segments took part making sure the ground is well prepared to render the ceremony as near perfect as possible.
Conspicuously present and openly active at the rehearsal were: the Chief of State Protocol, Simon Pierre Bikele, Minister Delegate at the Presidency in Charge of Defence, Joseph Beti Assomo, Delegate General of National Security, Martin Mbarga Nguele, the Governor of the Centre Region, Naseri Paul Bea and some members of government. The rehearsal took place in two major phases, arrival of the President-elect followed by his swearing in and departure.
At the esplanade of the National Assembly one could see a similitude of the arrival of the President of the Republic, welcome by the authorities of the National Assemblies, staging of military honours composed of elements of the military, gendarmerie, and Presidential Guard among others under the animation of the band of the Military Hea...
