Illegal Migration In Africa: Youths Cautioned On Adverse Effects

They were educated on the dangers of clandestine migration during a conference to that effect at the International Relations Institute of Cameroon on November 30, 2018.
With the growing number of reported cases of those trapped in the desert and on the highsea as they struggle to migrate to Europe and unimaginable misfortunes of victims of illegular migration, the International Relations Institute of Cameroon on November 30, 2018 organised a conference to educate the young people on the dangers of moving across borders illegally. Organised under the theme: “Clandestine migration Africa-Europe: stakes and prospects for the African continent”, it witnessed the contributions of stakeholders from the Ministry of External Relations, the African Union, the International Organisation for Migration and the non-governmental organisation, Solutions to Clandestine Migration.
In his opening remarks, the Director of IRIC, Salomon Eheth said the objective of the seminar is creating a more pacific but holistic approach to combating illegal migration.
