South West: 150 IDPs Receive Christmas Gifts

Mayor Ekema Patrick effected the sharing of the items to them at the Buea Council premises on December 23, 2018.
150 Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) living in Buea have celebrated Christmas in joy like any normal family in Buea. This was thanks to a consignment of Christmas gifts sent to them by the Head of State, President Paul Biya, through the Ministry of Territorial Administration as explained by Ekema Patrick Esunge, Mayor of Buea.
The package comprised 150 mattresses, 150 blankets, 150 rice bags of 25kg, 50 cartoons of soap, 12 cartons of sugar, 30 cartons of tin fish, 300 plastic buckets and FCFA 2,250,000. Effecting the distribution equitably, Ekema Patrick Esunge said that from the last distribution on November 6, 2018, they had 500 IDPs. From this number, they selected those who were desperately in need of the materials. “If a civil servant is internally displaced, he/she should not be a beneficiary to the scheme.
