What made you to drop your arms after several years as a separatist fighter?
We did it mainly because we realized that we have been deceived. The promises that were made to us by leaders in the Diaspora were not sincere and we realised that they were only going to destroy our country. Everything they told me and others were all lies. They made us believed in fake dreams and promises. We went into the bushes and started dying. They promised us supernatural powers and that they will take care of our family but our mates started dying and many other bad things happened to us. We had no choice but to drop down our arms.
How was your experience staying in the bushes?
We stayed in the bush for over two years. As for me, I was commandant at Menchum and Wum. They were boys that were trained and brought to the field for the Ambazonian fighters as they call it “Freedom fighters.” But we realised that we were slaves and treated as slavery fighters by our so called leaders in the Diaspora. We instead looked radical and treated our people as slaves. So we had to take the decision to come out from the bushes so that we can help to build our nation. We want to tell our friends and other people who are still in the bushes that we have been integrated in the society. We want them to drop their guns.
Have you now realised that peace is important?
Peace is very essential in any government. Without peace they can never be development and unity. Every country is struggling to go forward and we cannot keep on dragging our own country backward. We too want to be at the top of nation building. Please, we really...
