The New Deal regime of President Paul Biya is in a festive mood this November 6, 2019, relishing the path covered in the past 37 years of his rule thus far, but obviously reflecting deep on how to surmount teething challenges that stare the system in the face. Popping champagne as may be the case in the various gatherings across the country is understandable as 37 years in power and still on, supporters would say, is not for he who wants but who can.
As supporters of the regime in power therefore bury themselves in merrymaking and at the same time seek ways of reiterating their usually unalloyed support to the man in power to level the huge mountains of trials in the country, all and sundry must as well bear in mind that the success of Cameroon is for the good of all Cameroonians and vice versa. Supporters of the Cameroon People’s Democratic Movement may be at the forefront of the celebrations today; logically so as they are members of the ruling party, but a better Cameroon where development is nearly balanced, where feelings of superiority and inferiority are minimised, where common interest overrides the sometimes parochial and egocentric needs of some, is built by all citizens, within and without the country; their politica...
