Prime Minister Chief Dr Joseph Dion Ngute received in audience the new High Commissioner of Canada to Cameroon, Richard Bale.
The new High Commissioner designate of Canada to Cameroon, Richard Bale says his country is available on a long term to work with Cameroon to tackle issues such as the security challenges Cameroon is facing in the Far North, East, North West and South West Regions.
He spoke to journalists after the first discussions with Prime Minister, Head of Government, Chief Dr Joseph Dion Ngute at the Star Building in Yaounde on November 13, 2019. He used the occasion to discuss with the Prime Minister, the Major National Dialogue that took place on September 30 to October 4, 2019 essentially dedicated to solve the socio-political crisis in the North West and South West Regions as well as other issues in order to ensure the return to peace, stability in Cameroon also pave the way to greater unity, national cohesion and living together. Talking about the outcome of the dialogue, High Commissioner, Richard Bale said, “We spoke a little bid about the Major National Dialogue and the next steps coming out of that process. That is a process we heartily welcome and we stand ready to provide any assistance or expertise to the government of Cameroon in areas where we have experience.” He stated that those were challenging situations which are complex to solve.
In general, High Commissioner Richard Bale and Prime Minister Dion Ngute had a good discussion about Canada-Cameroon bilateral relationship which is multifaceted, the Canadian diplomat said. He disclosed that he was in Cameroon to implement the priorities of the government of Canada.
