Parliaments Pay Tribute to Hon. Mbah Ndam

The former Vice Speaker of Cameroon’s National Assembly was buried in Yaounde on June 27, 2020.
Cameroon’s National Assembly, Pan African Parliament and the Parliament of the Central African Economic and Monetary Community (CEMAC) have all paid their last respects to Hon. Mbah Ndam Joseph Njang who died on April 13, 2020 in Yaounde. He was not only a Member of Cameroon’s National Assembly on the ticket of the opposition Social Democratic Front (SDF) from 1997 to 2020 when he lost in the February 9, 2020 legislative election but also a member of the Pan African and CEMAC Parliaments.
The Senior Deputy Speaker of Cameroon’s National Assembly, Hon. Hilarion Etong who also doubles as the President of the CEMAC Parliament led the delegation of parliamentarians to Hon. Mbah Ndam’s funeral ceremony and burial at the Nkomo neighbourhood in Yaounde. In his eulogy, Hon. Hilarion Etong said that though of the opposition, Hon. Mbah Ndam in the CEMAC Parliament was a patriarch who presented Cameroon’s position. Also present during the funeral ceremony with his own eulogy was the President of the Pan African Parliament, Hon. Roger Nkodo Dang.
During his 23 years of service in Cameroon’s National Assembly, Hon. Mbah Ndam served as the pioneer SDF Chief whip and was later on voted one of the Vice Speakers of the National Assembly.
Before his death, Hon. Mbah Ndam was the leader of the college of lawyers who were the Social Democratic Front (SDF) legal advisers. He was born in Batibo in Momo Division of the North West Region in 1955.
