Muyuka Council : Protecting Inhabitants Remains Priority

In two instances the population has been provided with gadgets to kick off the dreaded pandemic out of their municipality.
Muyuka Council has been on its feet ever since the first case of Coronavirus was detected in Cameroon on March 5, 2020. To ensure that its population remains safe from the pandemic, the council has in two instances provided the population with all the needed gadgets to confront COVID-19. In late March 2020, the Council stationed 10 hand-washing containers of 1,000 litres each adapted with taps at the Muyuka Police Station, Muyuka Bus Station, Ekona Bus Station, and Gendarmerie Brigade Muyuka among others. Dozens of other hand-washing containers of lower capacities and waste water collectors where equally made available. The containers were accompanied by 2,000 face masks, dozens of hand sanitizers, dozens of liquid soap and cartons of Carmel water. But it has not been a bed of roses in Muyuka as armed group destroyed most of the anti-COVID-19 materials and at the same time threatening the population not to use them.
The council’s effort was immediately beefed up by President Paul Biya’s anti-Coronavirus materials meant to keep the population nationwide safe. The items comprised protective face masks, cartons of laundry soap, dozens of containers adapted with taps, waste water collectors, hand sanitizers as well as bags of rice and beverages were shared to the population from the 13 to 15 May, 2020. The then Divisional Officer for Muyuka Subdivision, Besinga Ely Itone, personally supervised the sharing in Ekona Mbenge, Meanja Camp, Muyuka Coach Station, Muyuka Main Market, Mile 30 CDC Camp, Muyuka Central Mosque, The Shelter Workshop for the Blind, Yoke among other places.
