Yaounde : Technical Checks Of Provisional Lists Underway

Members of the electoral colleges are currently visiting the Mfoundi divisional branch of Elections Cameroon to crosscheck clerical errors ahead of the December 6 regional poll.
The atmosphere at the Mfoundi divisional branch of Elections Cameroon (ELECAM) on September 28, 2020 is serene but a delicate one for members of the electoral colleges whose names are inscribed in the provisional lists published September 22, 2020. They are expected to check clerical errors including the spellings of their names, date of birth, residence and parentage. The electors are equally expected to ensure that the pictures placed by their names are exact.
The Mfoundi ELECAM Branch Head, Yannick Fouda, tells CT that technical checks have been effective since the publication of the provisional lists. He indicates that several voters have been storming the divisional head office to ensure that their credentials are correct. The Branch Head equally advices those who are feed-dragging to start the crosschecking process to do so as fast as possible so that all necessary corrections should be done before the publication of the final lists. The crosschecking of the provisional list is in conformity with section 258 (2) of the electoral code.
