The 2nd Class Traditional Ruler of Great Soppo in Buea has been at the service of his villagers on all fronts.
Chief Etina Monono, 2nd Class Traditional Ruler of Great Soppo in Buea, is among the monarchs in the South West seeking for a place in the House of Chiefs through the Regional Elections of December 6, 2020. He is the head of list in Fako Division. Born in the early 1950’s, he was enthroned as Chief of Great Soppo in June 1999. In that same year, he established what he called the Palace Kitchen. From the kitchen he fed the destitute in Great Soppo for ten years. Under him, the population of his village has grown tremendously from 16,000 whom he inherited from his deceased father in 1999 to 22,000 in November 2020. With the Chief’s lobbying potential, Great Soppo now has three pharmacies, countless schools, health centres, professional institutions etc. Currently, he has plans to drill more boreholes in his village to add to the existing ones found in Great Soppo New Layout.
Chief Etina Monono did his primary education in Cameroon Baptist Convention (CBC) Great Soppo. Upon completion, he enrolled in Presbyterian Secondary School Bessongabang in Manyu Division where he obtained his GCE Ordinary Level. He returned to Buea where he taught Alma matters, CBC Great Soppo, and at the same time pursuing his Advanced Level. After his A/L he travelled to London in March 1973 where he engaged in nursing...
