Youth Affairs and Civic Education : Priority On Youth Empowerment

A budget of FCFA 23 billion 702 million was defended to that effect by Minister Mounouna Foutsou on December 2, 2021.
The Minister of Youth Affairs and Civic Education presented and defended the draft budget of his Ministry before the Finance and Budget Committee of the National Assembly on December 2, 2021. Four major programmes which are civic education and volunteerism, youth socio-economic integration, national integration and civic participation, and governance and institutional support, will, according to the Minister, be realised with the projected budget.
As concerns civic education and volunteerism, Minister Mounouna explained that attention will be on stepping up the fight against uncivil behaviour and violent extremism particularly in risks prone regions like the East, Far North, North West and South West, continuing the operationalisation of the National Civic Service Agency for Participation in Development, the revitalisation of Urban and Rural Mobile Mass Animation Teams throughout the national territory and ensuring the promulgation of Law No.2021/015 of 09 July 2021 to organise and promote volunteerism in Cameroon.
