Limbe : Late Motanga Decorated Posthumously

This State Recognition was discerned on February 26, 2022, as thousands of mourners gathered in Limbe to bid adieu to the deceased City Mayor of Limbe. 
Governor Okalia Bilai stated that the distinction from the Head of State whom he was representing came to recognise the enormous works that the late City Mayor did to develop Limbe, promote the successes of the ruling Cameroon People’s Democratic Movement (CPDM) for 20 years as Section President among other good deeds to the people of his Municipality. “Due to the diligent accomplishments of his duties in the various capacities, Mr Motanga literally transformed Limbe from the infrastructural perspective, thus rendering this seaside resort city into an amiable tourist destination. President Paul Biya, satisfied by the achievements of Motanga, decided to raise him to the high rank of Commander of the National Order of Valour,” Okalia said. The Governor further noted that “Motanga made Limbe to become a true laboratory for national integration and a model of living together.” He went on to recall the famous Limbe Festival of Arts and Culture, which, from 2014, has transformed Limbe into the enviable capital of cultural enjoyment and promotion. The Governor noted that Motanga was leaving behind a big gap to be filled with many unaccomplished projects. 
Other Speakers included Professor Elvis Ngolle who led a delegation of the CPDM Central Committee to Limbe on behalf of the CPDM Scribe, Jean Nkuete with a condolence message. Meanwhile the Special Adviser at the Prime Minister’s Office, Mrs Ndoh Bertha came with a message on behalf of the South West CPDM Permanent Committee.
