The national U17 women’s team will play against the Junior Shepolopolo of Zambia in round three of the 2022 FIFA Women’s U17 World Cup qualifiers. The decision comes after the two nations secured a walk over in the qualifiers in the African zone. The U17 Lionesses of Cameroon qualified for the next round of the competition following Eritrea’s withdrawal while Zambia qualified after Namibia withdrew from the competition. Even though FIFA is yet to make an official statement to this, the initial pairings show that Cameroon will play against Zambia in the next round.
So far, five teams have withdrawn from the 2022 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup African Qualifiers. They are Eritrea and Djibouti (CECAFA), Namibia, Guinea-Bissau, and Sao-Tome. As for Kenya, the team was disqualified following FIFA’s suspension. Eritrea was supposed to play against Cameroon, Namibia against Zambia, Guinea Bissau against Egypt and Sao Tome and Principe against Burundi during the weekends...
