Consumption Of Local Products Encouraged

The Coalition of Consumers Association of Cameroon has urged Cameroonians to consume local products. To achieve this, the President of the Coalition of Consumers Association of Cameroon, Prince Mpondo, proposed that local short, medium and long term measures be put in place to encourage the production of local flour from, say, plantain, cassava and banana to reduce the impact of the price hikes from the international market.
Prince Mpondo was speaking during discussions on the problematic of the soaring price of raw materials on the international market and its inevitable impact on the Cameroonian consumer and the government measures to fight against expensive living at the Hotel Lewat at Bessengue on March 22, 2022. The discussion was a part of activities marking 37th edition of World Consumer Rights Day commemorated on March 15, 2022. The event brought together consumers, representative from the Cameroon Business Guild, GICAM and members of the Coalition of Consumers Association of Cameroon.
The rise in the prices of raw materials on the international market is all the more worrying as it continues...
