North West : More Detectors Of Improvised Explosives On The Field

Forty Defence and Security elements trained to detect and counter improvised explosive devices (IEDs) in the North West region.
The safety of civilians, Defence and Security Forces was the subject during a three-week training course which drilled some 40 Defense and Security Forces on best practices to detect and counter improvised explosive devices in the North West region rocked by the ongoing socio- political and security challenges since 2016. Graduates from the training course received Certificates on April 8, 2022 with the stated preparedness to enhance safety for Defence and Security elements on mission to ensure the protection of people and property.
It emerged from the event at the Command Post of the 5th Joint Military Region that an earlier batch trained in the disciplines succeeded to detect and detonate some 30 IEDs in some neighbourhoods of Bui Division. The Coordinator of the training Course, Col. Tetcha Felix revealed that the continuous security challenges by IEDs inspired the training of the second batch.
