Cameroon-India : Broad-based Issues Discussed

External Relations Minister, Mbella Mbella received in audience the Indian High Commissioner to Cameroon, Anindya Banerjee on April 11, 2022.
The Minister of External Relations, Mbella Mbella on April 11, 2022 granted an audience to the Indian High Commissioner to Cameroon, Anindya Banerjee, during which both personalities exchanged views on a wide range of subjects bordering on bilateral and multilateral cooperation.
In his statement to the press after the close to one-hour audience, the High Commissioner noted that discussions on broad-based subjects ended satisfactoryly. “We discussed mainly bilateral issues regarding some meetings in India and others on international issues. We are very happy with them,” he stated. On the Russia-Ukraine war, the High Commissioner said Cameroon and India has similar agreements on the conflict, and the situation is affecting everyone.
Cameroon and India cooperate in several domains with the latter supporting the former in the energy sector through the construction of a transmission line between Nkongsamba and Bafoussam, a project expected to be delivered by February next year. India also supported Cameron in financing the project for energy transmission between Abong Mbang and Yaounde.
