AFCON 203 Qualifiers : 34 Players Shortlisted

The coach of the Indomitable Lions has published a list of players who will begin training in Yaounde ahead of the Kenya and Burundi qualifying games.

Barely three months after the 2021 AFCON, Cameroon is now focused on the qualifying tournament for the 2023 edition that will take place in Côte d’Ivoire. The Indomitable Lions will play the qualifiers against the Harambee Stars of Kenya and the Swallows of Burundi during the FIFA period from May 30 to June 14, 2002. In this light, the head coach of the national football team Rigbobert Song Bahanag has shortlisted 34 players who will begin training ahead of the competition. The list was made public on Friday May 13, 2022 by the Cameroon Football Federation. This comes on the heels of another list of 25 home-based players invited by the Coach Song Bahanag that will take place from May 23 to 27, 2022. 
On Coach Rigobert Song’s list for the 2023 AFCON qualifiers are three goalkeepers, 11 defenders, nine midfielders and 11 attackers. Prominent on the list are some new dual nationals. There is Christophe Wooh, the promising 20-year-old Lens central defender, who will honor his first call-up to the Cameroon national football team. Also, there is Georges Kevin Nkoudou who plays for Besiktas, Turkey. Other new comers include midfielder, Olivier Kemen who plays for Kayseri spor in Turkey.
