Inter Clubs Athletics Meeting : Competition Gets Tougher

The fourth playing day of the Inter Clubs Athletics Meeting took place at the Yaounde Omnisports Stadium last weekend.

As the athletics season draws closer to its end, the competition gets tougher and more young talents are being detected. The fourth playing day of the Inter Clubs Athletics Meeting took place at the Yaounde Omnisports Stadium last weekend. Organised by the Cameroon Athletics Federation (FECAATHLETICS), the competition brought together over 200 athletes from clubs across the country. During the last but one playing day, it was a rich display of talents by the young athletes in nearly all the events. The competition served as preparation for the upcoming African Athletics Championship in the Mauritius Island and equally an opportunity to detect talents. The athletes competed in several disciplines in the track and field.  
In the men’s 100m, Ibrahima Hamayadji (AIA) was the fastest in 10.49. The same athlete won the men’s 200m in 21.03. In the women’s 100m, Bell Bonong (CSA) was the winner in 11.90. Bell Bonong equally won the women’s 200m in 23.87. In the women’s 1500m, Bilo’o Sandra (Mvila) finished first in 4.46.75. In the men’s 1500m Abba Sali (FAP) was the winner in 3.58.83. In the men’s 400m, record holder Tetndap Nsangou (INJS) won the race in 46.29. In the women’s 400m, Nkengue Ambomo (CSA) was the first in 57.68.
