Contrary to the previous edition, the champions of this season was produced on the pitch, with a relative hitch-free process despite some loopholes recorded.

The 2022 edition of the MTN Elite One and Two football championships in Cameroon has effectively come to an end. These championships which were the first litmus test for the Samuel Eto’o era at the helm of the Cameroon Football Federation (FECAFOOT), have gone under scrutiny with many acknowledging the improvements made despite some minor loop holes registered.
This season, Samuel Eto’o with the help of the transitional body (CTFP) created to organise the competitions has gotten thumps up as to what concerns making known their representatives for CAF interclub competitions on time. The new format of playing the championship in two groups and in four cities only therefore proved to be successful. This success comes despite a short unwanted break provoked by some grievances raised by club presidents. A similar scenario held during the previous season but the swiftness in responding to the grievances is what made the difference this time around. Thus, for the first time in a while, the champions have been determined on the pitches just as how football should be.
The programming of the competition is an aspect that has also gone under scrutiny. The fact that matches were programed averagely after three days has raised mixed feelings. While others think that it helps boost competitiveness and builds the resistance of the players, others think that it does not give enough time for the players to rest and recuperate.
