Basketball Cup of Cameroon : FAP, Douala University Are Winners

FAP Basketball Club of Yaounde (men) and the University of Douala Basketball Club (women) are the winners of the 2022 edition of the basketball Cup of Cameroon that took place at the Yaounde Multipurpose Sports Complex on Sunday July 10, 2022. Organised by the Cameroon Basketball Federation (FECABASKET), the competition brought together teams from across the country. The competition unfolded in the U18 categories and the senior men and women’s categories. Yaounde inhabitants had an opportunity to discover new techniques in the sport. It was equally an opportunity for basketball experts to detect new talents and for aspiring youths to develop interest in the sport.
In the women’s final, the University Basketball Club of Douala beat defending champions, Overdose Basketball Club of Yaounde 68-61 to lift their first trophy. In the men’s final, three times champions of Cameroon, FAP Basketball beat Ecole de Basketball of Douala 103-59 in a thrilling encounter to grab the trophy.  Earlier, in the women’s U18 category, Ornyx Yaounde beat Moungo Zone of Nkongsamba 86-63 while in the men’s U18 final, Moungo Zone of Nkongsamba beat Falcons of Yaounde 69-68.
