CAF Awards 2022 : Senegal Dominates African Football

Senegal’s Sadio Mane who plays for Bayern-Munich won the trophy for the Best African Player during the ceremony that took place in Rabat, Morocco on Thursday July 21, 2022. It was the second consecutive time Sadio Mane is wining the trophy. The event was highly attended by top officials of CAF, former footballers and invitees. The ceremony aims at rewarding African players for their performance during the year.  In trophy for the Best Women Player went to Asisat Oshoala (Nigeria-Super Falcons).
From the results, Senegal players got the majority of the trophies. The trophy for the best women youth player went to Evelyne Badu (Ghana-Sekondi SAESCAS) while the trophy for the best men’s youth player went to Pape Matar Sarr (Senega- Tottenham).  Evelyne Badu equally won the trophy for the best women’s inter clubs player for the year while Mohamed El Shenawy (Egypt-Al-Ahly) won the trophy for the men’s category.
