Regional Assembly : Peace Building Projects Outlined

An eventful session of the North West Regional Assembly dropped curtains on July 28, 2022 with Councillors committed to fast-track peace building and development projects for normalcy to return to communities rocked by the ongoing socio-political and security challenges. It is against this backdrop that the joint session of the House of Chiefs and Regional Councillors resolved to stand by the decision of the Fons to initiate the ritual of cleansing their fondoms from the evil that is haunting the region.
It emerged from the session that Divisional and Sub divisional Steering Committees led by trusted ministers of the church will handle peace building and development initiatives in the region. The agenda of the session equally featured deliberations that culled community projects and validated a standard framework for support by the Regional Assembly. Model and standard procedures for peace building were adopted with Regional Councillors urged to shine as icebreakers for peace initiatives in communities.
