Sports Federations : Executive Organs Need Renewal

Since 2016, elections in sports federations are still in suspense whereas the executive organs are supposed to be renewed every four years to ensure continuity and development of the sports movement in the country. The Minister of Sports and Physical Education had suspended elections in sports federations due to diverse reasons. 
The turmoil going on in the handball, boxing and judo federations are telling. Recently, these federations had approached the Minister of Sports and Physical Education calling on him to organise elections in sports federations. Some federation presidents are deemed to have stayed for too long and are no longer competent to manage the affairs of their federations. Others are simply absent and only show up at the end of the sports season to organise the Cup of Cameroon competition. The absence of elections in the 49 national civil sports federations in the country has brought about internal wrangling among the members of some sports federations.
