A three-day workshop by Helen Keller International Cameroon and the Ministry of Public Health opened in Yaounde on August 10, 2022.
Cameroon, like other countries involved in the Act to End Neglected Tropical Diseases, NTDs in West Africa initiative through elimination, control and eradication, is improving the collection, storage, analysis and security of its data system. As well as transferring knowledge through a national health information system.
In order to understand the management of NTD information in Cameroon, a consultancy firm, in collaboration with Helen Keller International Cameroon, undertook a situation analysis of current data security. To take advantage of the achievements, identify lapses and make recommendations to meet World Health Organization standards. In this light, Helen Keller International Cameroon and the Ministry of Public Health, with the financial support of the United States Agency for International Development, USAID, are organizing a three-day workshop (August 10-12, 2022) in Yaounde.
To discuss recommendations and disseminate the results of the study. The main objective is to approve the results of the study on securing NTD data, produce a procedure manual on NTD data management and come up with a timeline for implementing the recommendations. “Securing health data is a major challenge for Cameroon and other countries.
