2023 CHAN Qualifiers : A Must Win Match

After losing in the away leg, the Intermediate Lions will have to convincingly win Equatorial Guinea in the return leg on Sunday, September 4, 2022 in Garoua.

The Intermediate Lions of Cameroon will play against the Nzalang National of Equatorial Guinea on Sunday, September 4, 2022 at the Roumdé Adjia Stadium in Garoua at 8 p.m. The game is within the framework of the second leg last round qualifies of the 2023 African Nations Championship (CHAN).
The team of coach Alioum Saidou will be going into the encounter with a deficit after losing 0-1 to their Equato-Guinean opponents in the first leg last weekend in Malabo. To qualify for the final phase of the CHAN, Cameroon needs to win with at least a two-goal difference. This is a task which might be difficult, but not impossible if the team braces up properly and right the wrongs of the Malabo game.

In preparation for the September 4 game, the Intermediate Lions reportedly had a few training sessions in Yaounde before moving up to Garoua to continue fine-tuning their skills. Reports say when they arrived in Garoua on August 31, 2022 they had their first training session yesterday September 1, 2022. Given that the Intermediate Lions could not score in Malabo, Coach Alioum Saidou will definitely be emphasising on the attack line to see that the forward players concretise their scoring opportunities.
