New BIR Operations Base Commissioned

Field operations for the 32nd Regiment of the Rapid Intervention Battalion (BIR), have been enhanced with the inauguration of their new logistics base, comprising dormitories, a gymnasium, independent water and electricity supply. The General Coordinator of the BIR,  Colonel François Pelene supervised the inaugural event in Wum on September 8, 2022 while Menchum SDO, Abdoullahi Aliou officially cut the inaugural ribbon, declaring the facility good for use. It was a rare moment to celebrate Civilo-Military cooperation in times like this when collaboration between the population and Defense and Security forces is crucial in fast- tracking a return to normalcy in the face of the socio-political and security challenges rocking the North West region.
It was against this back drop that the General Coordinator of the BIR, Col Pelele urged the population and Defense and Security forces to strengthen relationship. He encouraged the population to enhance their safety by providing intelligence messages to help Defense and Security forces to best protect them and their property from standard bearers of evil.
