World Clean Up Day : Caravan Cleans Streets

This was during the world clean-up day on September 17, 2022.
Celebrated every September 17, the World Clean-up Day is aimed at bringing people together to get rid of trash and garbage around their environment so as to make the world a clean and healthy place. Against this backdrop some volunteers under the Venta Prevention and Health Optimisation Services –VDP-HOS were on the streets of Douala on Saturday, September 17 to clear the street and make the environment clean. Be it at Akwa, Deido and Bonamoussadi, they picked up trash and cleared all garbage heaps along the road while sensitising the population on the importance of keeping the environment clean and free of garbage.
According to the coordinator of the Venta Vdo-Hos, Mr Venland Tazoh Teke, they were out to clean the street and educate the population of Douala on how to keep their environment clean. He added that they didn’t only clean the streets but also some offices and houses that they were granted access. To him, health is wealth as such cleaning is important for the well-being of all. He also disclosed that cleaning is a collective action as infected garbage can affect a whole community.
