International Endoscopic Surgery Congress: Government Backs Initiative

The Minister of State, Minister of Higher Education, Jacques Fame Ndongo, has pledged government’s support to all initiatives that will generate from the ongoing international congress on gynaecological endoscopic surgery in Yaounde. He was speaking on behalf of the Prime Minister, yesterday September 27, 2022 as he officially opened the second International Congress in Gynaecological Endoscopic Surgery in Yaounde. It's the brainchild of the International Society for Gynaecological Endoscopy (ISGE) and the African Society for Gynaecological Endoscopy (AFSGE) and hosted by the Human Reproductive Teaching Hospital Paul and Chantal Biya (CHRACERH). Discussions are taking place under the patronage of the President of the Republic.

Speaking in front of some Government Ministers, thousands of national and international participants, Professor Jacques Fame Ndongo, Chancellor of Academic Orders, said the aim of the congress falls within the National Sustainable Development Goals of 2030 to improve healthcare given to women and children. He noted that the congress will not only strengthen the health system of Cameroon, but will also improve gynaecological policies geared toward boosting the Head of State’s social actions in the country. The Honorary Chair at the Congress, Professor Victor Gomel from Canada said there is certainly a lot to see and learn during the congress. According to him, it is evident that the congress will offer a scientific feast for all gynaecological disciplines as well as offer the platform for professionals to share ideas and experiences. The President of ISGE, Professor Gunter Noe from Germany expressed satisfaction with the government’s readiness to get support to improve its gynaecological policies. The eminent professor in the domain of endoscopic surgery said his association was ready to share what they know; hence participants should ask all the questions on issues they need clarification.
