Economic Growth : Cameroon Promised Development, Business Assistance

The Chairman of the Commonwealth Enterprise and Investment Council, Lord Jonathan Peter Marland made the promise in a dinner organized in his honour on October 10, 2022.
The Commonwealth Enterprise and Investment Council will assist Cameroon to improve on business and industrial sector as a way of enabling the country achieve its National Development Strategy 2030 which is part of the Head of State, President Paul Biya’s vision for the country to become an emerging economy by 2035.
The visiting Chairman of the Commonwealth Enterprise and Investment Council, Lord Jonathan Peter Marland made the declaration during the dinner the Prime Minister, Head of Government Joseph Dion Ngute on behalf of the Head of State, President Paul Biya offered in his honour at the Yaounde Hilton Hotel on October 10, 2022. In response to the Prime Minister’s toast and in the presence of a cross section of cabinet ministers and other Commonwealth and Cameroonian dignitaries, he appreciated Cameroon. Lord Jonathan Peter Marland said, “I see before me a country that is on the move, respectful of free trade which lifts economies and people out of poverty and a country that is enforcing the rule of law.” Talking about Cameroon’s investment potentials, he said, “I see a country with natural resources which most people dream of : oil on the one hand and food on the other.” He also stated that he has noticed the entrepreneurial spirit and the willingness of the people to listen and think about doing business. After the declarations, Lord Jonathan Peter Marland said, “It is incumbent on our organization to assist your great country improve on business and industries.”
In the toast Prime Minister Joseph Dion Ngute earlier offered, Cameroon’s Head of Government said the visit of the Council’s delegation came at the time Cameroon was fostering its development objectives and also grappling with social and economic challenges. To come out of the situation, gover...
