South West : Sawa FC, winner of the Limbe City Council Championship

Sawa FC and Best Stars emerged champions of the 2022 edition of the Limbe City Council Inter-quarter football tournament that ended recently at the Limbe Centenary Stadium. In the men’s category Sawa FC of Dockyard Down Beach Limbe beat Cassava Farm FC 1-0 to grab the prestigious trophy with a whooping sum of FCFA 1.5 Million. In the women’s category, Best Stars edged Mbembi Bella Queens 4-1 on post-match penalties after a goalless draw in the female category. The women took home FCFA 500 000. 
The Limbe City Council Inter-Quarters Football Tournament baptized “Fresh Edition” started on July 12 and was officially launched on July 20, 2022 by Mounouna Foutsou, Minister of Youth Affair and Civic Education. 
The Mayor of the Limbe City Council, Paul Efome Lisombe Mbole Ngale, saluted all the teams that took part in the competition for their fair play, tolerance, transparency and respect shown throughout the contest. He said football is a game of love, a force for peace and an ingredient for living together. “Let me assure all of you that Limbe City Council Inter-Quarter Football Tournament Fresh Edition for both boys and girls is a legacy we shall preserve and sustain for the benefit of our youth and for the future of football in Limbe,” he said.
