Guinness Super League : Teams Brace Up For New Season

Ahead of the start of the competition, the various teams are making their final preparations in order to meet the challenge.

As the countdown to the 2022-2023 Guinness Super League narrows, preparations have reached fever pitch in the country. Since the end of the 2021-2022 season, officials of the different teams have been seeking ways of improving their teams in order to present the best teams in the women’s championship next season. After the one and a half month break, some teams have begun with training exercises and recruitment of players and officials. Awa FC after their elimination from the CAF Women’s Champions League 2022 decided to take some rest to enable the players reorganise themselves physically. The administrative staff needed some time to rest to better prepare for the next season. 
The fact that the championship will resume in January enabled the administrative staff to recruit some new players who will be presented officially in the days ahead. Awa FC had their first training session on Monday October 10, 2022 at the CFTA Stadium in Ekounou, Yaounde. The Team Press Officer, Junior Sosso said the training session was marked by a friendly match between the new players and the old ones. That was the only sports activity that the team had to prepare for the new season. This notwithstanding, Awa FC will officially reopen its sports season in November.
