Cameroon-Red Cross Relations : Migration Challenges Discussed

External Relations Minister, Mbella Mbella on November 8, 2022 received the Italian Red Cross Regional Delegate for West Africa and the Sahel, Elena Crippa.
Migration issues, especially the challenges faced and being managed by the government of Cameroon have been discussed at the Ministry of External Relations. This was during an audience the Minister of External Relations, Mbella Mbella granted to the Italian Red Cross Regional Delegate for West Africa and the Sahel, Elena Crippa on November 8, 2022.
According to her statement to the press after the audience, she held talks with the Minister on intensifying relations between Cameroon and the Red Cross besides the management of migration issues. “I am here on a mission to reinforce the relationship between Cameroon and the Red Cross. We had the opportunity to meet the Minister of External Relations and discuss about the challenges that the country has to manage in the migration sector as well as strengthen cooperation ties between our institution and Cameroon in the management of the migration situation in the country,” she stated.
Cameroon, it should be recalled, faces several migration issues especially with the influx of refugees from the Central African Republic, Boko Haram insurgencies in the Far North Region and the security situation in the North West and South West Regions of the country.
