No one could have believed that Jean-Charles Castelletto will be the first to score the first goal for Cameroon at the ongoing World Cup in Qatar. The 27-year-old centre back scored the first goal for Cameroon during the second playing day against Serbia at the Al Janoub Stadium on Monday November 28, 2022. His goal at the 29th minute put the Indomitable Lions on the lead 1-0 against Serbia. That alone was a glimmer of hope for the team that was without a goal since the start of the competition. Not only did Castelletto score a goal early in the game he equally gave an assist that enabled team Captain Aboubakar Vincent to reduce scores 2-3 at the 64th minute against Serbia.
The Indomitable Lions had to come from behind to secure a 3-3 draw with the other goals scored by team captain, Vincent Aboubakar and Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting.
